Our client, a small growing construction company, located near Lowell, MA is seeking a professional, extremely accurate and detail-oriented Assistant Controller/Office Manager for a high visibility growth position. Reporting directly to the owner.

Responsibilities include hands-on and oversight of all accounting and bookkeeping functions (e.g., GL, AP, AR, full cycle certified payroll, quarterly and yearly tax and union reporting); job costing, financial statements, month and year end closings internal and external audits, revenue recognition and ensure GAAP compliance. Assist with hands-on, development, maintenance and oversight of policies and procedures of the office, including back up for phone coverage, government project proposals and tracking. Supervise and mentor office and bookkeeping staff.

Must have previous experience with Timberline or QuickBooks Enterprise, MS Office (Excel and Word), strong communication and analytical skills and the ability to multi-task while maintaining professionalism.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and at least seven years of accounting experience, preferably in a construction of engineering company.
